My system would “freeze” a few seconds into facebook and I would have to shut down. I, too, could not decide what was causing the “freeze.” I now have been to facebook and all is fine.

I really apologize for that too. As soon as I verified the issue, I fixed it. I ran into some trouble getting the release out as there is a review process add-ons must go through. To correct this in the future, all AtD releases will be made available through an early access program first. I can update the early access release immediately for adventurous users. This should help assure the releases you get are free of these issues in the future.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was on Facebook playing bejeweled. Thanks for fixing the problem. I thought I had spyware.

    This is a great addon!

Keep it simple and slick – those are
    the best add-ons around.

Try not to be TOO much (ok.maybe some features
in the background available to advanced )

Once I got the hang of it, I found it very useful. Unlike some of the grammar checkers, it’s geared to someone who uses English and not some weird Tibetan dialect. I’m a professional writer and AtD is like having a live-in editor.

I hate the way this slows down my saves on WordPress. I think I have saved a document and when I get back there is a long delayed AtD window that means nothing was saved. Also every url is flagged as a misspelling. And it has no medical vocabulary and only gives me the option to ignore terms, not to add them to the dictionary.

      Hi Karen,
I’ll try AtD for Firefox on a clean WordPress setup. Automattic is the company behind WordPress.com and we’re very keen on making sure AtD plays nice with it.

My apologies on the lack of the medical dictionary. This is a special use case that our more general software is not targeted for. We created the ignore terms feature to be more general than a custom dictionary. This way you can ignore grammar and spelling errors that provide no value to you.

AtD shouldn’t flag most URLs as misspellings. Some URLs fail to match the pattern I’ve created for URLs in the software. The best thing to do is to provide the trouble text via the contact form on this site so I can respond to it.

I was experiencing the Facebook pause, but not just in Facebook — I’ve had it in Gmail, too — my MacBook Pro threw a pinwheel whenever I accessed the Labels drop down or waited for a draft message to load. It also appeared when loading long discussion threads.

Haven’t seen a pinwheel since installing the upgrade — many thanks — love this Add-on!
